Meet Alyssa Rae - though her athletes know her as Coach Rae Rae. Born and raised in California, she’s a mom of two, a former collegiate softball player, and now a personal trainer, group trainer, and sports performance coach. Her client list stretches from kids just learning the game to professionals at the peak of their sport.
And what drives her? A simple mission: helping the next generation of athletes move faster, think sharper, and play with more confidence.
From Physical Therapy to the Sidelines
Coach Rae Rae didn’t always plan on being in the sports world full-time. She started in physical therapy, but quickly realized she missed the high-energy, fast-paced environment of athletics. It was her own coaches - the mentors who left a lasting mark on her - that lit the path forward.
“I wanted to be that stand-out coach for the athletes of the next generation,” she says. And that’s exactly what she’s become.
Why BlazePod?
From the outside, BlazePod might look like just flashy lights. But to Coach Rae Rae, it’s one of the smartest ways to train.
“From a coaching perspective, BlazePod is an amazing way to integrate reaction into training while keeping athletes engaged. It takes the boring repetition out of programs and forces the brain and neuromuscular system to work at an elite level.”
For her, it’s about keeping athletes locked in while sharpening the very skills - reaction time, decision-making, agility - that make a difference in competition.
Favorite Drills on the Training Hub
Ask any of her clients and they’ll tell you - Coach Rae Rae loves core work. Her all-time favorite? The Core Twist Reaction drill, a staple in her sessions.
On the field, she leans on Fast Feet Tag for agility and the 5-10-5 Pro Agility Test to measure speed and directional changes. These drills keep athletes moving fast and reacting faster, all while giving them tangible progress they can measure week after week.
And when it comes to creativity? She’s left her mark on the Training Hub with softball-inspired drills like Baseball–Softball Pitch Reaction - a color-coded reaction drill designed to sharpen decision-making and timing at the plate.
Real Results
The difference BlazePod has made in her sessions is clear:
-
Athletes are more eager to train.
-
Clients look forward to drills instead of dreading reps.
-
Stamina levels are climbing higher.
Even at home, her husband and kids are all in. “It’s a great way for us to ‘play outside’ while sneaking in a workout. The kids don’t even realize how much they’re improving while having fun.”
Words to Train By
Coach Rae Rae’s advice to anyone starting their fitness journey is simple and powerful:
-
Set realistic goals - and celebrate the small wins.

Stay consistent - discipline beats intensity every time.

-

What Keeps Her Going
Every coach has their “why,” and for Rae Rae, it’s crystal clear:
“My motivation comes from every victory - big or small - that my athletes and clients share with me. Watching them grow in strength and confidence inspires me to keep learning and pushing forward.”
And that’s the spirit of Coach Rae Rae. A trainer. A leader. A mom. A coach who doesn’t just prepare athletes for the next game - she prepares them for the next level of life.
